  • PWOFOD's Continuing Ministry
PWOFOD, a diaconal training organization, lost their office in the earthquake. With support from CRWRC they have a new temporary office. Ad deBlaeij from CRWRC and Pierre Merisier, PWOFOD's coordinator, describe PWOFOD's programs, which include micro-credit and literacy. (6:26)
  • Madame Guirlene's Story
Madame Guirlene is a blind woman living independently in Luitor, one of the communities where CRWRC is responding to the destruction and trauma wrought by the Haiti earthquake. Initially she received a tarp and food aid from CRWRC. Later her tarp tent was replaced by a wood framed shelter. (5:08)
  • Six Month Update
Lauris and Ron Fuller, CRWRC International Relief Managers, capture much of the first six months of CRWRC's disaster response in Haiti, particularly in the Leogane communities of Croix des Peres, Flon, Luitor, Macombe, and Masson. Madame Edner Dekaye describes her transition from the tarp tent camp in the field, to a temporary shelter on her property, and finally to a new CRWRC wood framed house. (8:22)
  • Hope Rising Like Dough
Toni Fernhout, CRWRC International Relief Manager, tells the story of how a bakery, just outside of the Disaster Response office in Flon, picked up the pieces and got back to business immediately following the earthquake, impressing on her that these are not people waiting around for a hand out. (4:15)
