Description
Redemption is at the heart of the Christian faith because it is born out of God's sovereign and free love, just as it is clearly stated by this universally known Bible passage: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Since the times of the Apostle Paul, deep-thinking Christians have considered this passage as the beginning, rather than the end, of the debate about the theme of redemption. Nevertheless, only a handful of contemporary scholars have explored biblical passages that deal with the need, the nature, the perfection, and the scope of redemption with the same degree of depth and precision as Professor Murray.
The second part of this book deals with the different steps that must be identified in the Bible about how the redemption accomplished by Christ is applied progressively in the life of the redeemed. This section offers us useful explanations regarding the following biblical teachings: the calling, regeneration, faith and repentance, justification, adoption, sanctification, perseverance, union with Christ, and glorification.
